Railway Crossings

Now that I have found ways to simulate traffic flows. The next step is to find a way to simulate rail crossings. Unfortunately this is where SUMO falls short. From SUMO’s own documentation:

Caution: The simulation of trains is a developing subject and still carries some difficulties. These are discussed below.

It appears the next large challenge will be implementing a way to realisticaly model train movement and crossings. It appears that the standard vehicular movement models will have to be repurposed.
